1. Approval of September 4 minutes (see G:/Social Sciences Division/MINUTES/DRAFT Minutes).

No changes, motion by Cindy Ingold, second by Yali Feng

2. Announcements and Discussion Items:

• Election to Library Assessment Committee
  • Paper ballot was held in the meeting, Yali Feng will be the SSD rep
• RMT Subject Expert List (Hagman)
  • Reviewed history, RMT is going to take responsibility for updating a list which will be located on line, the list is meant only for reference rather than collections, Jess will put the list on the G drive with a deadline of Oct 18 for getting input back.

  • Last meeting was canceled, reminder that the order deadlines are earlier this year than last year
• Data Interest Group (Phillips)

• Diversity Committee (Ingold)
  • Met on Sept 8, on October 17 there will be a joint program with the iSchool diversity committee, brainstorming ideas for the coming year
• Faculty Review Committee (O’Brien)
  • Cindy will be our new rep, Nancy is the current rep and she reported out that FRC is reviewing dossiers and writing up recommendation letters
• LSSC Representative (vacant)
  • Absent
• Reference Management Team (Hagman)
  • There was discussion of connecting LibCal with Outlook
• SSD rep to Central Public Services Division (Ingold)
  • Met and discussed proposals for strategic hires. CPS is putting forward a request for a graphic designer and an outreach and engagement librarian
• Staff Development & Training Committee (Ingold)
  • Not taking on anything new, working with administration on stress management, working on the transition to Primo
