    • Retooled position previously held by Beth Woodard (faculty librarian)
    • Focused on organizational development
      1. Identify problems in the organization, strategize solutions
  1. Approval of 8/8 minutes (taken by Susan)
    • Minutes accepted and approved
  1. Announcement about Veterinary Medicine Library reporting structure change
    • Vet Med Librarian previously reported to AUL for User Services
    • Now reports to Head of Funk ACES Library (approved by EC)
    • Made sense from a functional standpoint, as this was essentially what was happening
    • Strengthens ties between the units and division
  1. Discussion about librarian subject areas on library contact webpages and directories
    • Proposed to list general subjects and liaison areas on separate lines
      1. Login to Library Directory to edit this info
    • Kelli can collect user stories and/or feedback for Reference Management Team
      1. Difficulties in finding contact info for and directing patrons to correct librarian
    • Should LSD or Funk have a group email for reference questions?
      1. Decided to table this idea for the time being
  1. Collections discussion
    • Gift Policy
      1. Lucy proposed a workflow for donations coming into Funk Library
        1. Gives guidance to staff and GAs
        2. Selectors need to be explicit about the process they want to follow
      2. Builds on new Library Gifts Policy, which gives guidance to selectors for what should or should not be accepted
  1. College of Medicine update
    • Students have finished first course in first block
    • Alex Cabada started on the job Oct. 8
      1. Based at Grainger
      2. Primarily supporting engineering aspects of COM
    • Some issues being collaborated on by Carle-COM and UIC-COM
      1. Common space in Grainger basement
      2. Mentorship program
  1. Committee assignments and reports – AC, CDC, others
    • CDC – ProQuest is piloting a data driven acquisitions model for databases; will be doing a WoS review in advance of the contract renewal
  1. Round Table
    • Campus Charitable Fund Drive – launch event on Oct. 17 with representatives from different charities (and donuts)
    • John and Tom are open to going to division meetings to talk about the Main Library building project
      1. May be joint LSD/PSED meeting
