Attendees: Claire Stewart (Chair), MJ Han, Kirstin Johnson, Joe Lenkart, Jennifer Teper, and Sarah Williams (recording).

 

Absent: Mara Thacker (Vice-Chair), Kelli Trei, and Chris Wiley

 

Public Session – Virtual

1. Technical difficulties prevented EC from providing a public session during this meeting.

 

Closed Session -In-person

2. Approve minutes – The May 8, 2023, minutes were approved upon a motion from Kirstin Johnson, which was seconded by Jennifer Teper.

 

3. Question Time – Claire shared that in her first five days she has been meeting with individuals and groups in the library and across campus. EC also discussed the campus strategic planning process.

 

4. Appoint PRC replacements – EC appointed Peer Review Committee replacements for some upcoming sabbaticals. Lucretia Williams will reach out to the appointed and report back to EC. Other PRC replacements will be appointed at an upcoming EC meeting when current and future sabbaticals can be factored into the discussion.

 

 

5. Strategic funding award report – EC had an initial discussion about a strategic funding award report.

 

6. Status check on search committee for College of Medicine positions – EC continued discussion of search committee members.

 

 

7. Open Discussion – EC had a wide-ranging discussion, including inclusive governance, communication, decision-making processes, budgets, grants, and the Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA) collective collection.
