- Library Assessment professional development event planning (format, date, venue, funding…) (40 min)
A local library assessment professional development event is desired by the faculty and staff and so a 2-hour session has been scheduled for April 11. The committee discussed refreshments for the event, as well as activities. The tentative time table for the event was established. Tasks were assigned to be completed in order to get everything ready for the Assessment Forum.
- Sweeps Week Program review (20 min)
Sweeps Week has been inconsistent in the past, and while not everyone likes it, it is a marker of what is going on in the library and gives a helpful snapshot. The committee discussed the possibility of changing the timing of sweeps week, or even sharing some sweeps week data to show how the hard work is not only appreciated but useful for the library.
- Student Survey instruments (LibQUAL+ Lite vs. Ithaka Undergraduate Student Survey) (20 min)
The committee agrees that including demographic questions in this survey will be a waste of time unless someone wants to specifically address racial differences in the university. We discussed the pros and cons of different student survey instruments LibQual and Ithaka.
