  • Approved as amended.
  1. Announcements and Discussion Items:
  • Dean Wilkin provided some guidance over the budget for the next year based on his meeting with the Provost: It is very probable that there would not be any reduction.  There will be a salary increase of 2% (merit based).  As for the collection, the inflation plus 1% will be covered.  When you have a vacancy, see the position beyond one division but more as a library resource.
  1. Reports
  • Area Studies Division rep to SSD (Rudasill)
    • Laila will be in Sudan for six weeks for her UN work.
    • One person going up for tenure from the Area Studies Division
  • Collection Development Committee (Ingold)

    • Package of resources from Gale (presented by Cindy) – Tom needs our input. Cindy sought feedback about the spreadsheet that she distributed earlier (Gale Primary Source)

  • Nancy: Three instruction sessions, two after the spring break (a little unusual for the College of Education).  Reminded that ALA early bird registration is March 15.
  • Hagman: The exhibit at the Marshall Gallery is coming down today (  “Crossing the Skyline:  Architecture, Literacy, and Incarceration”).  Led a qualitative research workshop at Savvy Research workshop.  Serving on a search committee for the Undergraduate Teaching & Learning Librarian position.
