Minutes

1.       Illinois Research Connections (IRC) effort (Rebecca Bryant)
Rebecca is the Library’s Visiting Researcher Information Systems Manager. The website for IRC is http://publish.illinois.edu/researchconnections/. There you can find information about what they do and about the portal they use. There’s also a video that shows you how to search the portal. Through the portal you can showcase your work, access campus research expertise and discover new collaborators. See http://publish.illinois.edu/researchconnections/files/2015/11/20160220_Unit-Administrator-Training-PPT-slides.pdf.

Rebecca would like to come to a meeting with each unit’s faculty contacts to do a presentation on what IRC can do to help them. Or there are tutorials on the IRC website that can help you explain the pros of using this system. Please call Rebecca if you’d like to set up a time for her to share the database information.

Faculty around campus have already started updating their profiles and adding information. You can also upload Google profiles into this database.

2.       Division Coordinator appointment/reappointment process (Tom Teper)
It was determined that the Calendar for Reappointment of Division Coordinators needs to be updated, but that the Bylaws are fine as they are.

JoAnn made edits to the calendar. Kim will update the calendar and send out to the committee. Beth Woodard will gather information on best practices to assist future appointments/reappointments to bring back to AC.

3.       Approved events wording and practice for library events (Beth Woodard)
Beth Woodard suggested wording to be used when sending out an announcement about a Library “approved event.” Beth will work out the language for the message and bring it to the next AC meeting.
