- Monitor campus diversity efforts, OVCDEI, etc.
- Sean Garrick from University of Minnesota is appointed as vice chancellor for diversity, equity and inclusion, effective Aug. 1. Rusty Barcelo is leaving
- Opportunity: to invite Dr. Garrick to the Library Faculty meeting or even just the Diversity Committee meeting if it fits his schedule
- Albert Lee Film Showing
- Happened in April (same date with Library Retreat event) at iSchool, around 20 people attended à maybe time, location, parking that would make people less likely to attend
- Put on Aug. agenda to discuss about time, location
- Opportunity: maybe host it at Public Library or at the Spurlock Museum– Jessica will investigate this
- Continue connection with the iSchool Diversity Committee
- Nicole Cooke is leaving–Cindy will ask Chris to see who will serve as a Chair for the iSchool Diversity Committee
- Continue cultural connections or other suggestions
- Possibly because it is a well-attended event
- Atoma will work with Laila to produce an event report; the Committee will decide after that point
- Training Sessions
- Stress Management is what the Library is focusing on now and next year due to all the big projects
- ISSS has offered some good training sections – Cindy has a list of what was offered at the Library
- Jessica suggested Training Session by the Campus Police –may need to talk to HR and Jake
- Concerns or Suggestions
- Krystal will find out if the Diversity EDU program offer for everyone on campus
- New members will be added in late July
- Comment from Jessica: the checklist for event is very helpful à Cindy and Heather will meet to update and post it on the Committee website
