1. Approval of October 7 minutes (see G:/Social Sciences Division/MINUTES/DRAFT Minutes).

2. Announcements and Discussion Items:

• Charge and Planned work of UGL/Main Library Integration Working Group (Ward)

  • Steering team chaired by David Ward and Sara Holder
  • Integrating UGL staff, services, and collections into the Main Library (and ACES/Grainger at a smaller scale)
  • Timeline
    • Spring 2022: Current UGL staff and collections need to be moved out. ~April
    • June 2022: Demolition of current UGL lower level
  • Potential of four working groups will function under the steering team
    • Consultations and Programming
    • Instruction
    • Fulfillment/Logistics/Circulation
    • Study Space
  • There will be no designated “Undergraduate Library” space/unit once the move and construction are fully complete.
  • David is working with subject specialists on ‘where is stuff going’
  • Keeping in mind accessibility issues with spaces
  • Timeline is tight but the team is confident
  • Work will begin happening at a fast pace

• Reference Management Team (Hagman)
  • Keep an eye out for new LibChat version. Can be tried out as a beta now.
  • Training session around January.
• Central Public Services Division (Phillips)
  • Working on selecting 5Y reviewers for faculty
  • Investigating possibility of screen share feature in new LibChat version.
    • Several issues need to be resolved first

• Nancy: Deadlines coming up for GA hiring. Busy. Looking forward to the winter break.
• Chris: Instruction for Fall wrapped up, planning for Spring now.
• Yali: Research consults and committee assignments. Working on an article.
• JJ: Getting ready to spend money. Looking forward to vacation.
• Yoo-Seong: No consults scheduled! Evaluating new databases to acquire.
• Jess: Hiring a new GA in SSHEL. Workshops on qualitative research.
• Lisa: Finished instruction. Promoting next year instruction. Missing being in the same space as the patrons and other faculty.
