Present: Jan Adamczyk, Kit Condill, Shuyong Jiang, Lisa Renee Kemplin, Joe Lenkart, Xiaoping Qi, Lynne Rudasill, Antonio Sotomayor, Mara Thacker, and Steve Witt

Announcements & Accolades:

1. Library Holiday Party is today from 11:30-1:30 at Alice Campbell Alumni Center.

2. Antonio’s book, The Sovereign Colony is now available for purchase on Amazon. 

3. Lynne appears in a News Gazette question and answer segment on the holidays. She will leave on sabbatical in less than a month.

4. Atoma is currently on sabbatical.

Discussion:

1. Preliminary statistical report discussion. Current report is very labor intensive to generate. Consultations with Jen-Chien reveal that no other department in the library does as extensive a report. Current partial report was 25 hours of Rob’s time. Acknowledged the hours put into social media by Katrina and results of increased readership. Steve would like to also look at how that impacts and supports other IAS work.
2. Explored HUB commitments and best way to assign staff. Originally the assignments were one semester on and one semester off. Suggestion for using rotation as a means of assignment to HUB.
3. Brief discussion of what a 3%, 5%, and 7% reduction in budget might look like. 3% might look essentially the same as now. 5% and 7% may mean closing the library in the evenings and weekends and using only undergraduates to staff the IAS desk. There is a commitment to try to keep GH for support of Subject Specialist projects.
