Minutes

1.    Guide to the Library brochure (Heather Murphy)

(brochure on AC website)

The intended audience is anyone and everyone. The committee gave Heather several suggestions for the brochure. Most divisions didn’t think it was something they would use, but felt that if Advancement needed something to hand out, this would work well. If anyone has further comments, please send them to Heather.

2.    Empowering Staff to Say No: Guidelines for Supervisors of Units Impacted by the Early Retirements

A civil service employee brought this up. As staff are leaving and more and more work is put onto others, they are wondering when and if they can say “enough” for now.

Supervisors should be having discussion with their staff about priorities and what the expectations are for each individual. When someone besides your supervisor is asking you to do something that you don’t think you have time for, you can refer them to your supervisor.

Once all the VSIP or VRP applications have been approved, Paula Kaufman will send out an email with the information.

3.    UIUC Library Withdrawal Policy and Procedure (Teper)

(attached document)

The new Illinois Public Act 096-0498 allows us to sell items.

The Policy was approved by AC.

4.    Selecting Library Materials for High Density Storage (Teper)

(attached document)

The committee was in agreement about the document.
