Academic Affairs
The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs works closely with Library Human Resources and the Dean to administer academic affairs for all library faculty, including appointments, promotion and tenure, and research support. They also serve as a key liaison to the Office of the Provost on these issues.

- Promotion and Tenure Advisory Committee (PTAC) – The Promotion and Tenure Advisory Committee reviews recommendations for tenure and promotion and advises the University Librarian on tenure and promotion decisions and other related matters as required.
- Faculty Review Committee (FRC) -The Faculty Review Committee provides the first level of review for promotion and tenure or for promotion to a higher rank. The committee is also responsible for monitoring visiting committee reports, and peer evaluation of Library faculty for merit. In addition, it is responsible for insuring that appropriate channels of communication exist among the committee, the University Librarian, and Library faculty regarding the work of the committee and its decisions.
