{"id":395,"date":"2014-02-07T00:08:01","date_gmt":"2014-02-07T00:08:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/archives.library.illinois.edu\/sousa\/?p=395"},"modified":"2024-10-21T18:49:11","modified_gmt":"2024-10-21T18:49:11","slug":"eduardo-diazmunoz-university-illinois-opera-theatre-records-transford-sousa-archives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.library.illinois.edu\/sousa\/2014\/02\/07\/eduardo-diazmunoz-university-illinois-opera-theatre-records-transford-sousa-archives\/","title":{"rendered":"Eduardo Diazmu\u00f1oz University of Illinois Opera Theatre Records Acquired by Sousa Archives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Eduardo Diazmu\u00f1oz University of Illinois Opera Theatre Records were transferred to the Sousa Archives and Center for American Music at the end of January.\u00a0 The new collection of materials consists of correspondence, production records, School of Music committee and\u00a0 Opera Division notes, audition and casting records, Opera Newslines newsletters, programs and production announcements, and fellowship awards documenting the general operation and management of the University of Illinois Opera Theatre program under the direction of Maestro Diazmu\u00f1oz between 2004 and 2014.\u00a0 Diazmu\u00f1oz earned his BM magna<em> cum laude <\/em>at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City and did advanced conducting studies under the auspices of the Soci\u00e8t\u00e8 Philarmonique in Paris, France.
