While we are fortunate to receive partial funding from the government through the Title VIII Program, this support alone is not sufficient to cover the breadth of programming we offer.<\/p>\n<p>Gifts to the SRS should be directed to the Mary Zirin Fund. Mary Fleming Zirin was a pioneer in Slavic and East European women\u2019s studies. Working as an independent scholar, she amassed information and shared it generously with others, both informally and through her well-known publications, such as the <em>Dictionary of Russian Women Writers<\/em> (1994), <em>Women &amp; Gender in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, and Eurasia: A Comprehensive Bibliography<\/em> (2007), and the <em>Current Bibliography<\/em> still regularly produced by the Association for Women in Slavic Studies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your gift to the Slavic Reference Service will:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Support<\/strong> workshops for graduate students and early career scholars, including the Dissertation Research Workshop and our Publishing in REEES workshops.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sustain<\/strong> our year-round programming, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/uconference.web.illinois.edu\/\">Dmytro Shtohryn International Ukrainian Studies Conference<\/a> and the Baltic, Caucasus, and Central Asia <a href=\"https:\/\/researchforums.web.illinois.edu\/\">Research Forums<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fund<\/strong> graduate assistants who help manage the large number of reference requests we receive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Donate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.library.illinois.edu\/friends\/make-a-gift\/\">Library&#8217;s Office of Advancement <\/a>homepage, and select the &#8220;Make Your Gift&#8221; button at the top.<\/p>\n<p>Select &#8220;Slavic and East European Library&#8221; under the dropdown menu.
