Scholarly Communication and Publishing is a separate department in the Library that provides expertise on digital publishing, copyright and author’s rights, open access, and researcher identity management to faculty, staff, and students at the University of Illinois. They also collaborate with libraries, research centers and institutes, departments, and individual researchers at Illinois and beyond to produce, disseminate, and preserve high-quality scholarly publications.
The experts in Scholarly Communication and Publishing are available to answer questions relating to:
- Open access, including open educational resources
- Copyright, including author’s rights and Fair Use for educational materials
- IDEALS and digital repositories for scholarly publications and data
- Researcher identity management, including Illinois Experts and ORCID
