Children’s Literature Comprehensive Database (CLCD)<\/h2>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>Children\u2019s Literature Comprehensive Database (CLCD)<\/a><\/u>\u00a0offers a wide range of information on children\u2019s literature titles.\u00a0The CLCD includes the following information about children\u2019s books: author, title, publisher, subjects, reading level,\u00a0age range, reviews, awards, prizes, and best book lists. Searching with filters can specify multiple categories, such as genre, reading level, curriculum tools, or books with professional reviews to further limit results.<\/p>\n

Diverse BookFinder<\/h2>\n

The Diverse Bookfinder<\/a>\u00a0offers a variety of resources regarding children\u2019s and young adult books that feature Black and Indigenous Peoples and People of Color (BIPOC).<\/p>\n

Their\u00a0searchable catalog collection<\/a>\u00a0includes thousands of books with BIPOC characters and narratives. The filters on the left of the catalog allow the searcher to limit their results by several factors, including the books\u2019 audience, the lived experiences of the books\u2019 creators, and the identities of the books\u2019 characters. The items in the searchable catalog collection are not necessarily recommended by the site\u2019s creators. Books endorsed by Diverse BookFinder can be found on their\u00a0\u201cRecommended Reads\u201d page<\/a>. This page also includes a list of resources one can use to evaluate the quality of racially\/culturally diverse books.\u00a0 Additional resources on the site include data, blogs, and external links to scholarly and popular articles, all regarding diverse children\u2019s books.<\/p>\n

NoveList<\/h2>\n

NoveList<\/a>, is a fiction database that provides subject heading access, reviews, annotations, etc. for fiction books for all ages.<\/p>\n

Go to the \u201cAdvanced Search\u201d page and click on \u201cBoolean Search.\u201d It’s possible to search fiction titles by subject terms or keywords. This page also offers a convenient way for you to define age range of the books you are looking for (Audience or Grade Level).<\/p>\n

Does the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Library own these books?<\/h2>\n

After conducting a search in a database and finding books of interest, search for the item by title in the\u00a0Library Catalog<\/a>\u00a0to determine if the University Library owns the books.
