{"id":5886,"date":"2025-10-20T21:11:22","date_gmt":"2025-10-20T21:11:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.library.illinois.edu\/rbx\/?page_id=5886"},"modified":"2025-12-16T19:50:32","modified_gmt":"2025-12-16T19:50:32","slug":"armarium-journal","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.library.illinois.edu\/rbx\/get-involved\/armarium-journal\/","title":{"rendered":"Armarium Journal"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Call for Submissions<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Submit to the inaugural issue of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Armarium<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">! <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Armarium <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">is an annual compendium collecting creative and artistic responses to the Rare Book &amp; Manuscript Library\u2019s collections. This first issue invites undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, visiting researchers and scholars, staff, and community members to respond to the current exhibit housed in the Rare Book &amp; Manuscript Library, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sweetbitter: Literary Legacies and Afterlives of Sappho<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Responses can take a number of forms from visual art to music to multimedia to creative writing to researched writing and beyond. These responses can encompass the exhibit as a whole or focus on individual items on display in the exhibit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Submissions examining other aspects of the Rare Book &amp; Manuscript Library\u2019s holdings are also encouraged.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Artists, writers, and creators will be notified by March 16 whether or not their work will be included in this issue of <em>Armarium<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Guidelines for Formatting your Submission<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Visual Art: Submit all files as TIFF, PSD, or JPEG. Colors should be in CMYK. The resolution must be a minimum of 300 ppi for a 7&#215;8.5 inch print.<\/p>\n<p>Music\/Multimedia: The creator is responsible for hosting the recording on a link that <em>Armarium<\/em> can access and should please note this in the submission.<\/p>\n<p>Writing: Please submit all writing via .doc or .docx. For poems, please submit 3-5 poems, totaling no more than 7 pages total for consideration. For prose, please submit either one piece or a selection of flash pieces, totaling no more than 5 pages for consideration.<\/p>\n<p>The submission form can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLScfJ1gk7XXvicT4VJMxIke7SA4n6dyjwQA6jx6tVWazP52mOA\/viewform\">here<\/a>.
