Joseffy was a concert pianist, composer, and editor. Approximately 2,000 items. Collection consists mainly of solo piano music but also includes orchestral scores, miscellaneous manuscripts, and a few items of vocal music. Primarily U.S. and European editions of the period from 1870 to 1915, including many works by composers who were contemporaries of Joseffy. Several items have marginalia and fingerings in Joseffy\u2019s hand and autographs of composers.<\/p>\n<p>Materials were donated by surviving members of the Joseffy family in 1944. Additional materials were transferred from the Rafael Joseffy Memorial in New York City.<\/p>\n<h2>Location\/Access<\/h2>\n<h3>Music and Performing Arts Library<\/h3>\n<div class=\"ui-lib-list__no-bullets ui-lib-list__zero-left-pad\" >\n<ul>\n<li>Cataloged materials are interfiled among other items in Special Collections according to call number.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Sousa Archives and Center for American Music<\/h3>\n<div class=\"ui-lib-list__no-bullets ui-lib-list__zero-left-pad\" >\n<ul>\n<li>The remainder of the gift is maintained by the Sousa Archives and Center for American Music, which also holds Joseffy\u2019s personal papers, original manuscripts, and research notes.
