The Hymn Tune Index project sources include monographs, over 500 microfilms, photocopies, and other reproductions of printed source materials. Nicholas Temperley, former University of Illinois professor of musicology, gathered the materials for the project beginning in the 1970s and they were transferred to the Library in phases, ending in 2021 after Temperley\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<h2>Location\/Access<\/h2>\n<h3>Music and Performing Arts Library<\/h3>\n<div class=\"ui-lib-list__no-bullets ui-lib-list__zero-left-pad\" >\n<ul>\n<li>Microfilms are shelved in MPAL Special Collections with \u201cHTI\u201d shelfmark; sources are primarily in HTI source code order.<\/li>\n<li>Photocopied sources are arranged in file folders and boxes and are in HTI source code order.<\/li>\n<li>Individual monographs are classified and shelved in MPAL Special Collections or the Rare Book and Manuscript Library, as appropriate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Access \/ Finding Aids<\/h2>\n<p>The\u00a0<em>Hymn Tune Index<\/em>\u00a0contains various access points to the source materials. Monographs and individual source microfilms are cataloged and found\u00a0via the <a href=\"https:\/\/i-share-uiu.primo.exlibrisgroup.com\/discovery\/search?query=any,contains,%22hymn%20tune%20index%22&amp;tab=LibraryCatalog&amp;search_scope=MyInstitution&amp;vid=01CARLI_UIU:CARLI_UIU&amp;facet=rtype,include,scores&amp;lang=en&amp;offset=0\">Library catalog<\/a>.
