{"id":203,"date":"2016-11-28T16:42:31","date_gmt":"2016-11-28T16:42:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wordpress.library.illinois.edu\/mux\/?page_id=203"},"modified":"2025-09-22T19:26:31","modified_gmt":"2025-09-22T19:26:31","slug":"reserves","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.library.illinois.edu\/mux\/services\/reserves\/","title":{"rendered":"Course Reserves"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"shortcode sh-grid sh-grid-cols-1 md:sh-grid-cols-12 sh-gap-3\"><div class=\"shortcode sh-col-span-8 sh-pb-3\"><\/p>\n<h2>Students<\/h2>\n<h3>Finding an Item on Reserve<\/h3>\n<p>To determine whether materials are on reserve for your class, use the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/i-share-uiu.primo.exlibrisgroup.com\/discovery\/search?vid=01CARLI_UIU:CARLI_UIU&amp;search_scope=CourseReserves\">Library Catalog Course Reserves Search<\/a><\/strong> to search by course instructor, course name, or course code.<\/p>\n<h3>Accessing Items on Course Reserve<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Request items at the MPAL Service Desk by giving the item\u2019s call number to a staff member at the desk.<\/li>\n<li>Patrons must have their physical i-card or Illinois App to borrow materials.<\/li>\n<li>Please return all course reserves items directly to the MPAL Service Desk.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><div class=\"shortcode sh-col-span-4 sh-pb-3\"><br \/>\n<div class=\"shortcode sh-p-4 sh-rounded sh-drop-shadow-sm sh-bg-orange-200 !sh-text-black \"><div><div class=\"\"><\/p>\n<h2>Course Reserves Policies<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Standard check-out period for reserve items is <strong>2 hours<\/strong>. Some materials may be available to loan for 24 hours at the discretion of the instructor.<\/li>\n<li>Items may be renewed if no one else is waiting.<\/li>\n<li>Overdue fines accumulate at a rate of $5 per hour (2-hour reserves) or $5 per day (all other reserves).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<h2>Instructors<\/h2>\n<h3>Placing Items on Course Reserve<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Library materials, personal copies, and electronic items can be placed on course reserve.
