Access to Physical Collections
Materials may be requested through the library catalog. We will attempt to fulfill any requests for materials with an electronic version. If no electronic version is available, you will be notified if/when the print material is available and ready for pickup. The University Library, including MPAL, will not return to full service until the state of Illinois has reached Phase 5. During Phase 4, the Library will only be open to those with scheduled appointments. Please email email@example.com if you need to consult materials that can’t be requested through the catalog (media items, journals, reference works, special collections or formats, etc.).
Please see library.illinois.edu/covid-19 for further information about access to library collections and services.
Access to all of the Library’s online resources continues. You can find e-books, online scores, and most of our online audio and video by searching the library catalog. Please see this guide for a list of music, dance, and theatre online streaming media collections: guides.library.illinois.edu/audiovisual.
Many companies are making their online collections available for free, and others have offered extended trials during this period. Information about these resources can be found on this online guide: guides.library.illinois.edu/expandedaccesscovid19.
Questions related to research or instructional support should be sent to us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also schedule a virtual meeting with Kate, Music & Performing Arts Librarian.Schedule a virtual meeting
People are encouraged to hold on to library materials. If you are leaving town and must return library materials, our external drop-boxes are still open. These can be found near the north/Oregon St entrance of the Music Building. Items returned to drop-boxes will be discharged and backdated after it’s safe for staff to resume work. There will be no fines for “late” materials due to this situation.
If you have questions about items checked out to your account, please contact us at 217-333-1173 or email@example.com. We will not be able to answer the phone, but leave a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. If you need immediate assistance, please contact Central Access Services at 217-333-8400 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have questions about billing issues, please contact the Library Billing Office at 217-333-8288 or email@example.com.
