Description

Consists of two photographs, 62 3-inch 7 1/2 IPS reels, 9 7-inch 7 1/2 IPS reels, 15 8-inch discs documenting performances by Ned Williams and various soloists through both Caveman Supersonic Sound and Supersonic Music.

Correspondence between Williams and Music Librarian William McClellan refers to recordings donations as well as a cartoon comedy story, “Adventures of Gimbo Rooster” and a document described as “Songbook Manuscript.”  These two items are missing as of 2002.

Arrangement

The collection consists of sound recordings, reel-to-reel tapes and 45 rpm discs. The reels are arranged in numerical order as the composer had arranged these, and the 8 in. discs ordered alphabetically by song title.

Collections File folder (“Williams, Ned”) contains copies of correspondence relating to deposit of materials.  Original Collections File folder was moved to the Sousa Archives in 2011.
