Stewart<\/a>, professor of history (1974-) contain a photocopy of a text and commentary on the Koran by &#8216;Abd al- Jalil wuld Abd al-Rahman wuld Muhammadu wuld Muhammadu wuld al-Khattat wuld Sid A&#8217;mar (ca. 1900-65). They also contain a collection of Mauritanian Arabic manuscripts along with other Islamic and sub-Saharan African research material. These Arabic language manuscripts and printed documents, primarily from the 19th century, concern literature, law, Islamic religious texts and commentaries, Arabic language, and history.<\/p>\n<h2>Sultan Qaboos Collection<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-410\" src=\"http:\/\/wordpress.library.illinois.edu\/middle-east\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/111\/2024\/10\/news_image.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0October 2012, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csames.illinois.edu\/\">Center for South Asian and Middle Eastern Studies<\/a> received a grant from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sqcc.org\/About.aspx\">Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center<\/a> in Washington, D.C. that included acquisition funds for a collection on Oman and <a href=\"https:\/\/vufind.carli.illinois.edu\/vf-uiu\/Search\/Home?type%5B%5D=all&amp;lookfor%5B%5D=ibadis&amp;bool%5B%5D=AND&amp;type%5B%5D=title&amp;lookfor%5B%5D=&amp;bool%5B%5D=AND&amp;type%5B%5D=author&amp;lookfor%5B%5D=&amp;start_over=1&amp;submit=Find&amp;specDate=YYYY&amp;version=any&amp;gPub=\">Ibadi<\/a> Islam.
