Draft Data Citation Principles

Force11 is a community working to support the advancement of scholarly communication. One working group has released a Draft Declaration of Data Citation Principles for public comment until December 31. The preamble states “Sound, reproducible scholarship rests upon a foundation of robust, accessible data.” and “Data citation, like the citation of other evidence and sources, is good research practice.” To support this, the group has developed 8 data citation principles, which include unique identification, persistence, and versioning & granularity.
