Executive Committee Election

Margaret Chaplan, Tim Cole, Mary Stuart, and Leslie Troutman have been elected to the Executive Committee.  Their term runs from August 21, 1999, to August 20, 2001.

They will join existing members Tina Chrzastowski, Martha Friedman, Bill Maher, and Mitzi Williams who serve until August 20, 2000.

German Librarian to Speak at Grainger

All Library faculty and staff are invited to attend a talk by Anita Olsowski, Director of the Library at Polytechnic College, Neubrandenburg, Germany.  She will give a presentation entitled "Eight Years of the Library of the Fachhochschule Neubrandenburg (Neubrandenburg Polytechnic



College)" on:

Neubrandenburg is a city far north of Berlin in the eastern German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.  Ms. Olsowski is visiting the University of Illinois Library as a Mortenson Associate within the framework of the ongoing Mortenson exchange with academic libraries in the former East Germany.  Her talk will include a slide presentation, a video on her institution, and a demonstration of her library's web site.
