Travel reimbursement requests and original receipts must be turned in to Kim by July 7, 1999 for FY '98-'99 accounting purposes.    Anything turned in after this date will not be processed until July 14, 1999.   Travel funding is available each academic year.  Please remember to fill out a travel support request form for each trip and have it signed by the appropriate unit head.   The forms are available at the Library Business Office.  Please remember to use an Air Travel Order to pay for your air fare and/or train fare.  Kim will be able to assist you with an Air Travel Order.  Many agencies charge a service fee.   Doddson Travel in Champaign does not charge a service fee.  If an Air Travel Order is used, the original plane and/or train receipts must be turned in to Kim upon return.  Boarding Passes will not be accepted.

Bi-Weekly students who worked before Jan 19, 1999, will receive a 10 cent raise effective June 18, 1999. This will show on their July 14, 1999, paycheck.  Monthly students will receive a 10 cent raise effective June 21.  This will be time worked from June 21-July 20.  This will show on their August 20,1999, paycheck.  Remind monthly students their grad hourly appointments are paid a month later, whereas their assistantship is paid the same month they work. Remind new student workers that there could be a week delay on their first paycheck. The June 18-July 1 student payroll is split 80% old year, 20% new year.  The monthly payroll June 21-July 20, paid August 20 is split 33% old year, 67% new year.

Federal Work Study ended May 14, 1999.  Students may re-apply for the summer (6/7/99-8/14/99) and again in the fall.

As soon as a student worker quits, please turn in a yellow termination card.  Kim will be sending an updated list of bi-weekly students to each department within a few weeks.

Instructions regarding the floating Holiday for Staff will be sent in a few weeks.

Please turn time sheets in by the deadline of Friday by 5:00. Student time sheets for time worked June 18-July 1 will need to be turned in Thursday, July 1 by 5:00 because of July 4th Holiday.  A reminder will be sent at a later date.

B. Error rates for materials arriving at departmental libraries.  Rates range from 20 to 50 percent.  Errors range from mis-cataloging, mis-labeling, to order records not being deleted.  Any examples of errors should be e-mailed to the appropriate Tech Services personnel and LSSC.  It is important to notify TechServ so that the problems may be prevented in the future, we are all still learning!

C. Rapid Cat one-month test - we've heard it went well but would like to see a report on libnews or LON.  Word is the backlog is out of boxes but how caught up is it.
