| Faculty/Staff News Jane Block has been elected an Associate Member of the Royal Academy of Belgian Art, Sciences, and Literature. Congratulations, Jane! (Bill Brockman) New Exhibit In keeping with the current interest in James Jones and the release of the movie, "The Thin Red Line," the Rare Book and Special Collections Library has mounted a small exhibition of our holdings. This includes a revised first draft of Terrence Malick's screen play, donated to us by James Jones' daughter, Kaylie Jones. Kaylie also has a movie out--"A Soldier's Daughter Never Cries," and we have an autographed copy of the novel on which that movie is based. Thanks to Nancy Romero and Todd Fell for putting this exhibit together. (Barbara Jones) |
Phone Directory Correction Lynne Rudasill's office phone number is incorrect. It should be 244-1868, not 244-1865. The Library Phone Center is no longer under Technical Services and can be found under the Central Circulation heading. Please make a note of it. Thanks. (Eun Hae Lee) UIUC Campus Research Board The Research Board has approved in part the request by Professor Wei Ma for support of a project entitled 'Building a Database Selection Expert System.' The Board agreed to provide a total of $25,000 for the proposal. (Bob Wedgeworth)
