Printers Row Book Fair

Saturday, June 5 and Sunday, June 6

10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

web site:  http://www.chicagotribune.com/extras/printersrow/

The Library will once again be participating in this book lover’s tradition which is the largest free literary street fair held in the Midwest. Last year, thousands of alumni stopped by our booth to say hello and to ask questions about the Library.

If any Library faculty or staff members will be in Chicago on June 5 or 6, please consider coming by to spend some time helping answer questions or to mingle with the folks who stop by to see our display.  If you sign up ahead of time and spend at least two hours at our booth, we will give you a free Library t-shirt.  Send email to frey@uiuc.edu or call 333-5685 if you are interested in volunteering for a specific time.

The 2004 BookExpo America will be held at McCormick Place the same weekend.  Famous authors and personalities, including Bill Clinton, Julie Andrews, Jules Feiffer, and Alexander McCall Smith will be appearing at either the Expo or Printers Row.  If you also happen to be a baseball fan, on Sunday it will be Illini Day at Wrigley Field with the Cubs v. the Pirates.
