Family study rooms encourage students to bring their little Illini to the Library with them. Learn more about our full offering of <a href=\"https:\/\/wp-pilot.library.illinois.edu\/libinfo\/services\/ask-a-librarian-reference-services\/parent-and-family-services\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/wp-pilot.library.illinois.edu\/libinfo\/services\/ask-a-librarian-reference-services\/parent-and-family-services\/\">Parent and Family Services<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the_orange_room_2\">Main Library<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.library.illinois.edu\/tlas\/basic-needs\/\">Family Study Room<\/a> (Room 13) is located on the first floor of the Main Library in the Orange Room.\u00a0This space includes adult and child-sized furniture, a play kitchen, and children\u2019s books. You can also use your iCard to check out a Family Kit with coloring books, games, toys, and puzzles. Amazon Fire Tablets and a Pack-n-Play are also available to check out at the circulation desk in the Orange Room, as are headphones and sensory tools\/fidget devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"grainger_engineering_library_and_information_center_3\">Grainger Engineering Library and Information Center<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We also offer a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.library.illinois.edu\/enx\/reservations\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.library.illinois.edu\/enx\/reservations\/\">Family Study Room in Grainger Engineering Library Information Center<\/a>. This room includes adult and child-sized furniture, and STEM-themed Activity Kits that can be checked out at the circulation desk on the first floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, there is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.library.illinois.edu\/libinfo\/library-spaces\/lactation-spaces\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.library.illinois.edu\/libinfo\/library-spaces\/lactation-spaces\/\">Lactation Space<\/a> in Room 442 of Grainger, offering a private, comfortable space for parents to breast\/chestfeed while on the job or in their studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"funk_aces_library_4\">Funk ACES Library<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Funk ACES Library has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.library.illinois.edu\/funkaces\/services\/activity-kits\/\">Activity Kits for Children<\/a>\u00a0available for check-out from the Circulation Desk on the second floor. Activity Kits are organized by Funk-related theme (such as food and agriculture, animals, and city planning) and target age group. A typical Activity Kit will contain two books, a single-player activity, a whiteboard, and dry erase markers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, Funk has three different&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.library.illinois.edu\/funkaces\/services\/trunks\/\">Resource Trunks for Educators<\/a>, which are provided by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.&nbsp; Each Resource Trunk contains books, samples, and activities to support teaching and learning about Illinois natural resources.&nbsp; Anyone may borrow a trunk, and the standard loan period is 2 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The University Library knows there is no &#8220;typical&#8221; library users, and we try to provide study spaces that reflect that variety of needs.
