Upload submissions to <a href=\"http:\/\/digitalcommons.kennesaw.edu\/glq\/\"><em>GLQ<\/em> Journal Home<\/a>. \u201cDeadlines for articles and papers are the first day of March, June, Sept and Dec. Note that peer review articles may require more than one quarter to publish.\u201d<sup class=\"footnote\">15<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>No specific article length is given. According to the final submission guidelines, \u201cbecause this journal publishes electronically, page limits are not as relevant as they are in the world of print publications. We are happy, therefore, to let authors take advantage of this greater \u201cbandwidth\u201d to include material that they might otherwise have to cut to get into a print journal. This said, authors should exercise some discretion with respect to length. Peer reviewed articles are expected to meet a more stringent standard length.\u201d<sup class=\"footnote\">16<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Guidelines for book reviewers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Notify the editor if a conflict of interest is discovered.<\/li>\n<li>Read the book carefully and thoroughly.<\/li>\n<li>Include a brief summary, a description and evaluation of highlights, especially those to Georgia or Southern references.<\/li>\n<li>Include a recommendation of the appropriate readership.<\/li>\n<li>Write a review of between 300 to 500 words.<\/li>\n<li>Create the review in MS Word.<\/li>\n<li>Use 11 pt. Calibri font.<\/li>\n<li>Begin the review with the title, author or editor, publisher, date, ISBN, and price.<\/li>\n<li>End the review with your name and your library or affiliation.<\/li>\n<li>Please submit reviews to the GLQ site at <a href=\"http:\/\/digitalcommons.kennesaw.edu\/glq\/\"><em>GLQ<\/em> Journal Home<\/a>, or, email them directly to the editor at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:lautzenheiserj@bibblib.org\">lautzenheiserj@bibblib.org<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>If for any reason you are unable to fulfill your obligation to write a review, notify the editor immediately\u2013absolutely before the given deadline. Upon examination of several issues, there is a wide range of writing style that is represented. The peer-reviewed research article will have a scholarly and academic tone, whereas the opinion pieces are more informal. News items are also written in an informal style.<sup class=\"footnote\">18<\/sup><\/p>\n<p><strong>Style guide used:<\/strong>\u00a0<em>The Chicago Manual of Style<\/em><sup class=\"footnote\">19<\/sup><\/p>\n<h3>Conclusion: Evaluation of publication\u2019s potential for LIS authors<\/h3>\n<p>With its variety of offerings,\u00a0<em>Georgia Library Quarterly<\/em>\u00a0supplies opportunities not only for the LIS researcher, but also for those writers who would like to share ideas and opinions about the field of library and information science. This journal is especially relevant for LIS practitioners working and residing in the state of Georgia. One can assume that, as there is only one peer-reviewed research article published\u00a0per issue,<sup class=\"footnote\">20<\/sup>\u00a0this avenue of publication\u00a0original research published might\u00a0prove more difficult than a purely academic journal. However, as this is a journal that focuses on Georgia-related topics, research particularly related to Georgia libraries would most likely be welcomed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Audience analysis<\/h2>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>About the publication\u2019s readers<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Publication circulation:<\/strong>\u00a0<em>Georgia Library Quarterly<\/em> is an \u201copen access publication, freely available at <a href=\"http:\/\/digitalcommons.kennesaw.edu\/glq\/\"><em>GLQ<\/em> Journal Home<\/a>\u00a0with approximately 20,000 hits per year, including complete issues and individual articles.\u201d<sup class=\"footnote\">21<\/sup><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><strong>Audience location and language or cultural considerations:<\/strong>\u00a0Text is in English.<sup class=\"footnote\">22<\/sup>\u00a0Because this journal\u2019s readership is primarily located in the state of Georgia,<sup class=\"footnote\">23<\/sup>\u00a0there will necessarily be a cultural bias in writing about issues of interest to Georgia librarians. However, as can be seen on the readership map on\u00a0the publication website,<sup class=\"footnote\">24<\/sup>\u00a0<em>Georgia Library Quarterly<\/em>\u00a0is downloaded from all over the world. Authors should bear this global readership in mind by avoiding regional colloquialisms.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reader characteristics:<\/strong>\u00a0Most readers of this publication will live in the state of Georgia<sup class=\"footnote\">25<\/sup>\u00a0and share\u00a0an interest of topics importance to LIS professionals in this state.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge of LIS subject matter:\u00a0<\/strong>Most readers will be LIS professionals and\/or hold MLIS degrees. They will be knowledgeable about LIS issues, particularly those facing libraries in Georgia.<\/p>\n<h3>Conclusion: Analysis of reader characteristics and their potential impact on author<\/h3>\n<p>The articles, news items, and book reviews in the\u00a0<em>GLQ<\/em>\u00a0are written primarily by Georgia librarians, for Georgia librarians.<sup class=\"footnote\">26<\/sup>\u00a0For a someone\u00a0new to the profession, this publication presents an excellent opportunity to write for and connect with peers in libraries throughout the state. As this is an open-access journal, freely available worldwide,<sup class=\"footnote\">27<\/sup>\u00a0<em>GLQ<\/em>\u00a0is also a good venue for\u00a0original research.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Last
