A significant part of the journal consists of evidence summaries, a section of particular interest to\u00a0practitioners.<sup class=\"footnote\">8<\/sup><\/p>\n<p><strong>Frequency of publication<\/strong>: Quarterly<sup class=\"footnote\">9<\/sup><\/p>\n<h3>About the publication\u2019s submission guidelines<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Location of submission guidelines<\/strong>:\u00a0<a title=\"Evidence Based Library and Information Practice Submission Guidelines\" href=\"http:\/\/ejournals.library.ualberta.ca\/index.php\/EBLIP\/about\/submissions#onlineSubmissions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Submissions<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Types of contributions accepted<\/strong>: Original submissions that are not under consideration with another publication. Besides research articles,\u00a0<em>EBLIP<\/em>\u00a0accepts review articles of up to 10,000 words on \u201ctopics of relevance to practitioners in library and information studies. We are particularly interested in reviews which contain information on the state of research on a particular topic.\u201d<sup class=\"footnote\">10<\/sup>\u00a0Also accepted are evidence summaries, older but still-relevant research \u201cclassics,\u201d and commentaries. Commentaries and evidence summaries are not peer reviewed.<sup class=\"footnote\">11<\/sup><\/p>\n<p><strong>Submission and review process<\/strong>: Registration at\u00a0<em>EBLIP<\/em>\u2018s online system allows authors to submit work and monitor the progress of submissions. Articles of\u00a0up to 5000 words are considered. The editors make final decisions with regard to whether a manuscript\u00a0will be accepted. The editors also reserve the right to edit submissions for length, clarity, and style consistency. A final decision to publish or not is made by the editor after the double-blind peer-review is completed. The goal is to have submissions reviewed within 60 days of receipt.<sup class=\"footnote\">12<\/sup><\/p>\n<p><strong>Editorial tone<\/strong>: The editorial tone is academic and scholarly.<sup class=\"footnote\">13<\/sup><\/p>\n<p><strong>Style guide used<\/strong>:\u00a0<em>Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association,\u00a0<\/em>latest edition; authors should additionally consult the requirements in the publication Author Guidelines.<sup class=\"footnote\">14<\/sup><\/p>\n<h3>Conclusion: Evaluation of publication\u2019s potential for LIS authors<\/h3>\n<p><em>Evidence Based Library and Information Practice<\/em>\u00a0is a content-heavy publication intended for a real-life application. Librarians and other info pros should expect to find practical content that includes original research and reviews of previously published material that will help them make better decisions. Authors interested in publishing in this journal need to expect an audience with advanced knowledge in the field. The website allows for searching and retrieving archived articles. Also, readers can register for notification emails that will let them know when a new issue has been released, along with a table of contents.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Audience analysis<\/h2>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>About the publication\u2019s readers<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Publication circulation<\/strong>:\u00a0<em>EBLIP<\/em>\u00a0is an open-access journal that encourages libraries to include it in its electronic journal collection of holdings. The publishing system used is designed to be hosted and operated by research libraries in support of the journal publishing work of its associated faculty. This journal provides open access to all of its content with the goal and intention of making research freely available to the public, in hopes of supporting a greater global exchange of knowledge, practice techniques, and ideas.<sup class=\"footnote\">15<\/sup><\/p>\n<p><strong>Audience location and language or cultural considerations<\/strong>:\u00a0<em>EBLIP<\/em>\u00a0is published in English<sup class=\"footnote\">16<\/sup>\u00a0by the University of Alberta Learning Services in Canada and is supported by an international team of editorial advisors.<sup class=\"footnote\">17<\/sup>\u00a0The readership is international, and given its free online access, users are not restricted by geography or ability to pay.<sup class=\"footnote\">18<\/sup>\u00a0Authors should avoid\u00a0using geographical, cultural, or other references that might not be recognized or understood by all.<sup class=\"footnote\">19<\/sup><\/p>\n<p><strong>Reader characteristics<\/strong>: Readers of\u00a0<em>Evidence Based Library and Information Practice<\/em>\u00a0are librarians or information professionals\u00a0seeking to\u00a0improve their method of operations and the efficiency by which they do their jobs on a day-to-day basis. They are also people that want to advance their present level of understanding of best practices. Readers\u2019 workplace environments are varied, encompassing all\u00a0types of libraries and information systems. There is no evidence of bias. Values include the furthering of the profession of LIS and achieving\u00a0better working methods in professional settings.<sup class=\"footnote\">20<\/sup><\/p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge of LIS subject matter<\/strong>: Readers of this publication may be assumed to have an\u00a0advanced understanding of library and information science and to have experience working in their field. They are\u00a0interested in advancing their careers\u00a0and are curious to learn more on the subject of library and information science.<sup class=\"footnote\">21<\/sup><\/p>\n<h3>Conclusion:
