Happy Black History Month! This month, the Library has put together several events and exhibits celebrating Black history and culture focusing on the theme of “African Americans and Labor.” The Illinois Newspaper Project (administered by the History, Philosophy, and Newspaper Library) has partnered with the University Archives to exhibit Library material on Black labor history on display on the 2nd floor of the Main Library (near the entrance to the Main Stacks). In our exhibit case, we’re displaying newspaper facsimiles of Black-owned newspapers (mastheads and front pages), articles on Black labor unions and organizations, and advertisements for Black-owned businesses. This is on display through February. Come to the Main Library and check it out!<\/p>\n
