The letters are often endorsed as to the action taken. The collection also contains a typescript of one letter from Gov. Yates to Jesse Fell as well as typescripts made in 1913 of the letters from the Fells to Yates. See also the large collection of Yates papers in the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library.
