Among the many works of Sven Wikberg (1890-1959) is Abraham Lincoln, den store amerikanen [Abraham Lincoln: The Great American], published in Stockholm in 1940. This collection contains a 164-page typed translation of this biography by Adam Julius Strohm (1870-1951).
Strohm received a B.A. degree from the University of Uppsala in 1888, and a B.L.S. degree from the University of Illinois in 1900. After stints in the libraries of the Armour Institute in Chicago and in Trenton, N.J., he served as Chief Librarian of the Detroit Public Library from 1913 to 1941. His translation of Wikberg's biography of Lincoln, with his three-page preface to the work, was donated to the University of Illinois by his widow in 1957.
