Scope and Contents:

This collection contains three Illinois tax receipts issued by the North American Land Agency in New York from the years 1832, 1834, and 1836. The receipts are directed to an M. Meyers and indicate payment for Illinois bonds, as well as state and county tax. Each receipt includes a breakdown of the total amount Meyers owed.

The Library purchased this collection in the spring of 2016. It was acquired with printed ephemera purchased for the Van Norman, Clarendon, Jr., Collection of Lincoln and Illinois Ephemera (MS 852).
