Scope and Contents:
Harry S. Frame, Sr., of Milford, Iroquois Co., Ill., was an avid local historian. Frame collected 437 photographs of Milford scenes, which he placed in topically arranged albums with explanatory notes. He also assembled postcards, badges, coins, and buttons featuring many scenes illustrative of life in the late-nineteenth century Midwest including businesses, farm scenes, clubs, civic groups, the celebrated Milford horse fair, and schools.
Frame's daughter, Imogene Frame Wolf, of Milford, Ill., donated the collection to the Survey in 1985, through the assistance of Harold Scott of the University of Illinois.
