Jane and Calvin Follet settled in New Michigan, Livingston Co., around 1850. In these letters to Jane's brother, Charles Rounds, the Follets describe their life in Illinois, their neighbors, and their health.

Elizabeth Rounds Lawton of Wilton, Conn., donated these letters to the Illinois Historical Survey in 1972.
