Scope and Contents:
This collection contains letters to the Lang family who moved from Urbana, Ill., to Melrose, Mass., in 1940. Two of the letters are from a family named Raikes in Great Britain, who mention some of the effects of the war on their lives, while the third is a Christmas greeting from a patient in the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps' Canadian General Hospital. The envelopes of all three letters carry stickers indicating that government censors had read the contents.
