Tilden, Samuel J. (1814-1886). Letters, 1844-1848 | Illinois History and Lincoln Collections
This collection contains microfilm copies of letters of Samuel Tilden concerning New York politics, elections, the Free Soil movement, the law for the government and organization of Texas into a territory, and the issue of slavery.
In 1955, Norman Graebner acquired the film, made from the originals in the New York Public Library's Tilden collection. He then gave it to the Illinois Historical Survey.
