This record book was used by the crew of the steamboat Leander to record passengers, fares, crew names and wages, freight, and other accounts for various trips between St. Louis, Cincinnati, and New Orleans in 1843 and 1844. The journal was also used as an account book of a St. Louis merchant in 1844-45 and 1854-55.
