Scope and Contents:
This "Report of Peoria Indians" by Truman Michelson (8 pages, 1916) was based upon three weeks of field work authorized by the Illinois Centennial Commission. The paper discusses the inroads of other cultures on the Peoria Indians' linguistics, folklore, mythology, social organization, dances, population, and historical relations. The collection also contains the letter from Michelson conveying the report to Clarence W. Alvord.
