This index contains no subject access, but provides a helpful chronological list of the documents included in the serial set as well as other government publications issued from 1789 to 1909. It can be used in combination with the\u00a0Monthly Catalog<\/a>,\u00a0Ames<\/a>, and\u00a0Poore<\/a>\u00a0to find the location in the serial set of documents located by subject in the other indexes. Senate and House documents are listed separately for each session, so in order to find a Serial Set volume number in the 1909 Checklist it is necessary to know the type of document, document number assigned by Congress, and the congress and session numbers.<\/p>\n
