Rodriguez, Digitization Coordinator &amp; Registrar<br \/>\n<strong>Number of Openings:\u00a0<\/strong>1<br \/>\n<strong>Hours per week anticipated:\u00a0<\/strong>10<br \/>\n<strong>Hourly Rate:\u00a0<\/strong> $15.00<br \/>\n<strong>Anticipated Start Date:\u00a0August 24, 2026, Fall semester <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Schedule:\u00a0<\/strong> Monday-Friday 9:00 am &#8211; 5:00 pm<br \/>\n<strong>Academic Term(s) of Employment anticipated:\u00a0<\/strong>Fall 2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary<\/strong><br \/>\nThe digitization student assistant works under the supervision of the RBML\u2019s\u202fDigitization Coordinator.\u202fThese 10 hours involve performing duties related to the digitization of rare books and archival collections. The work schedule<strong>\u00a0is Monday to Friday, between\u00a0the hours of 9am and 5pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Major Duties and Responsibilities\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Digitization of selected rare books and archival collections to fulfill patron\u202fdigitization requests and RBML projects.<\/li>\n<li>Working with the Digitization Coordinator on in-house digitization activities using a Canon digital SLR camera.<\/li>\n<li>Using a range of common productivity and specialized computer applications and databases\u202f(Adobe\u202fPhotoshop, Box\u00a0accounts, Aeon, Library catalog,\u00a0etc).<\/li>\n<li>Includes opportunities to be involved in RBML projects as assigned by the Digitization\u202fCoordinator, such as public outreach activities,\u00a0exhibits,\u00a0and public programming.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enrolled as an Undergraduate Student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for the Academic Terms of Employment listed above.<\/li>\n<li>Interest in working in and learning about RBML collections and subjects<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multicultural environment<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail\u202fand good organizational skills<\/li>\n<li>Reliability<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work with Microsoft Office and Photoshop<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and oral communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal and team skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Student pursuing an undergraduate degree related to fine arts and\/or photography<\/li>\n<li>Experience with digital cameras and with Adobe Creative Suite\u202fproducts\u202f(particularly Photoshop)<\/li>\n<li>Previous\u00a0library\u202for customer service\u202fexperience<\/li>\n<li>Experience handling rare and fragile materials<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with the Library\u2019s catalog search,\u00a0specifically\u00a0the Dewey Decimal or Library\u202fof Congress classification systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicants should send a resume, short cover letter\u00a0stating\u00a0days\/hours of availability, references if available and questions to:\u00a0Ana D.
