Summary<\/strong>
\nThe Acquisitions and Cataloging Services (ACS) Unit is seeking a Graduate Hourly to receive Middle Eastern materials and copy catalog Arabic language materials upon arrival at ACS.<\/p>\n

Major Duties and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ACS Unit receives a large volume of printed materials from book vendors, both domestic and internationally. This includes sizable book shipments in various Arabic languages to support the University\u2019s and Library\u2019s research and teaching initiatives related to the Center for Asian and Middle Eastern Studies.<\/p>\n

These specific materials are received through firm, approval, and blanket orders, mostly from Arabic vendors. Receiving materials involves unboxing the shipment, recording receipt of the materials using the Library\u2019s system software, processing invoices for payment, and maintaining order statistics on a spreadsheet.<\/p>\n

Pre-identified Arabic materials will require copy cataloging. This process involves comparing the item in hand with bibliographic book records, adding the title to the Library\u2019s holdings, and applying appropriate call numbers in preparation for circulation.<\/p>\n
