Entitled \u201cSearch warrants and journalists: A guide for the perplexed,\u201d it serves print, web, and broadcast newsrooms across America.<\/p>\n<p>You can read it by open access in the article \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/freedom.press\/issues\/new-guide-helps-journalists-know-their-rights-when-police-come-knocking\/\">New guide helps journalists know their rights when police come knocking<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>How national newspapers in Turkey cover agriculture<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We are adding to the ACDC collection a content analysis of how four national newspapers in Turkey cover agricultural news.<\/p>\n<p>Findings reported in the <em>Journal of Agricultural Sciences (Tarim Bilimieri Dergisi) <\/em>during 2025 revealed that ideological approaches created significant differences in coverage. \u201cWhile agricultural policies stand out as the most covered theme, sustainable agriculture and food safety issues are not sufficiently addressed.\u201d Authors offered suggestions for increasing the quality of agricultural journalism.<\/p>\n<p>You can read \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.15832\/ankutbd.1605335\">Examining agricultural journalism in the context of food safety in T\u00fcrkiye: Comparative analysis of newspaper news<\/a>\u201d by open access.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>34 resources to help rural and other journalists cover protests and stay safe in person and online <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Society of Environmental Journalists offers a useful list of articles and other resources involving safety challenges such as these. Also, this document explains how journalists can report \u201cintimidation, interference or worse\u201d to the Freedom of the Press Foundation tracker.<\/p>\n<p>You can read \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sej.org\/covering-protests-and-staying-safe\">Covering protests and staying safe in person and online<\/a>\u201d by open access.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Consumers value \u201cgut health,\u201d but aren\u2019t sure what it means<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A research update from the International Food Information Council (IFIC) reports that gut health \u201chas moved from the sidelines of wellness culture into the mainstream.\u201d However, \u201cconsumer enthusiasm has outpaced consumer understanding. Nearly two-thirds of Americans (64%) consider gut health a high or extremely high priority, yet how they define it is deeply personal, often shaped more by tangible everyday experiences than less immediate outcomes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This research report also sheds light on information sources in which Americans place most confidence about gut health.<\/p>\n<p>You can read \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/ific.org\/media\/more-than-a-gut-feeling\/\">More than a (gut) feeling: Americans agree gut health matters, but not on what it means<\/a>\u201d by open access.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>How Midwest USA farmers use public and private information sources<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A 2023 article in <em>Agriculture and Human Values<\/em> explored this topic related to farmers in four Corn Belt states. Among the findings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Farmers gain valued information from both public and private sources.<\/li>\n<li>Public information sources, while identified as important, were accessed less frequently, appealed to farmers with stronger environmental interests, and appealed to older farmers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Authors identified potentials for extension and other public sources.<\/p>\n<p>The abstract of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1007\/s10460-022-10411-5\">Navigating the information landscape: Public and private information source access by Midwest farmers<\/a>\u201d is available, but the full text is not available by open access.<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested in reading the full text, please invite our help at <a href=\"mailto:acdc@library.illinois.edu\">acdc@library.illinois.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Communicator events approaching<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Here are upcoming events you may find helpful, including contact information you can use for details.
