{"id":11295,"date":"1998-01-02T22:29:22","date_gmt":"1998-01-02T22:29:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wordpress.library.illinois.edu\/funkaces\/?p=11295"},"modified":"2018-03-02T22:46:36","modified_gmt":"2018-03-02T22:46:36","slug":"acdc-news-issue-98-08-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.library.illinois.edu\/funkaces\/acdc-news-issue-98-08-2\/","title":{"rendered":"ACDC News \u2013 Issue 98-08"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><b>More information about farm broadcasting.<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>A new partnership with the National Association of Farm Broadcasters (U.S.) will permit the Agricultural Communications Documentation Center to provide more information about farm broadcasting.<\/p>\n<p>This recently authorized project will permit searching the NAFB archives to identify news articles, publications, audiotapes and other materials of broad interest.\u00a0 These NAFB materials are housed within the University of Illinois Archives.\u00a0 Selected items will be processed into the Center collection for easier identification by rural broadcasters, agricultural communications students, teachers, researchers and other online searchers.<\/p>\n<p>NAFB Historian Dix Harper and Assistant Historian Marla Behrens will coordinate the joint project with members of the Documentation Center staff.\u00a0 Work in the archives is expected to begin this fall.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><a name=\"item2\"><\/a><b>Providing documents quickly.\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>\u201cCan you help me get copies of these documents?\u201d a searcher from several hundred miles away asked us, by e-mail, during a recent Wednesday.\u00a0 They weren\u2019t available to her locally.\u00a0 And she needed them by Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Photocopies of the materials reached her Friday, with help from prompt staff follow-up and overnight delivery.\u00a0 We are pleased to provide this kind of service on a reasonable, cost-recovery basis.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><a name=\"item3\"><\/a><b>New information about Extension technology.\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>You can gain easy access to texts or abstracts of more than 70 papers presented June 15-17 at the National Extension Technology Conference in St. Louis, Missouri.\u00a0 When you enter the conference web site (<a href=\"http:\/\/outreach.missouri.edu\/netc98\/netc98_schedule.html\">http:\/\/outreach.missouri.edu\/netc98\/netc98_schedule.html<\/a>) you can see the titles of more than 100 sessions.
