focusing on committee and working group service.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">We received\u202f116\u00a0responses,\u00a0representing\u00a0a 41% response rate\u202ffrom current Library faculty, civil service, and academic professionals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">January Survey Questions:\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><strong>Question 1:\u00a0<span data-contrast=\"none\">During your time at the\u00a0Library\u00a0as a permanent employee, have you ever been asked to serve on a Library committee, working group, task force, or search committee?<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335557856&quot;:16777215}\">\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Respondents answered the following ways to the Q1 radio button question:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">Yes \u2013 86.2% (100 responses)<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">No \u2013 11.2% (13 responses)<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Unsure \u2013 2.6% (3 responses)<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This chart question:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>None: 20% (20 responses)<\/li>\n<li>1-3: 43% (43 responses)<\/li>\n<li>4-6: 25% (25 responses)<\/li>\n<li>7 or more: 12% (12 responses)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img id=\"isPasted\">The 80 respondents who indicated they were serving on at least one committee, working group, task force, and\/or search committee were presented with a final\u00a0<strong>follow-up question:\u00a0<\/strong>\u201c<strong>Does the amount of work you do for these committees and\/or groups feel like it is&#8230;\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Respondents answered the following ways to the follow-up radio button question:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Too much: 19% (15 responses )<\/li>\n<li>Just right: 48% (38 responses)<\/li>\n<li>Too little: 1% (4 responses)<\/li>\n<li>Not sure (Please briefly describe why): 29% (23 responses)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Respondents serving on a greater number of committees or groups were, as expected, more likely to report that the workload felt \u201ctoo much.\u201d Those who selected \u201cNot sure\u201d had the option to provide a brief explanation; the most common theme was that the workload varies depending on the specific committee or group and 13 respondents who selected \u201cNo\u201d and the 3 respondents who selected \u201cUnsure\u201d in Question 1 (16 total) were presented with a <b><strong>follow-up question: \u201cIf you were asked, would you agree to serve on a Library committee, working group, task force, and\/or search committee?\u201d<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Respondents answered the following ways to the follow-up radio button question:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Yes: 25% (4 responses)<\/li>\n<li>No: 31% (5 responses)<\/li>\n<li>It depends: 44% (7 responses)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The 7 respondents who selected \u201cIt depends\u201d to the question of<b><strong>:\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>\u201cIf you were asked, would you agree to serve on a Library committee, working group, task force, and\/or search committee\u201d could optionally write in a short reason. The most common themes were around time commitment and workload.<\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">January&#8217;s pulse survey had more logic branching than past surveys.
