(hiring, onboarding, training and developing, and supervising employees) for which Library HR provides support and guidance as needed.\u00a0 <em>The following list is not exhaustive<\/em>, but some of the specific responsibilities include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hiring and onboarding employees:\n<ul>\n<li>Submitting hiring requests to AUL\/Director and Budget Group<\/li>\n<li>Participating in position searches<\/li>\n<li>Completing new employee <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.library.illinois.edu\/bhrsc\/human-resources\/recruiting-hiring-and-onboarding\/onboarding\/new-employee-onboarding-checklists-2\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Onboarding Checklists<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Conducting new unit employees onboarding<\/li>\n<li>Reviewing the position description with new employees<\/li>\n<li>Setting initial goals and review the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.library.illinois.edu\/bhrsc\/human-resources\/job-performance-fundamentals\/overview-of-the-annual-performance-evaluation-process\/\">performance evaluation process<\/a><\/span> with new employees<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Training and developing employees:\n<ul>\n<li>Explaining to employees how to request time off<\/li>\n<li>Explaining to employees how to <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.library.illinois.edu\/bhrsc\/human-resources\/job-performance-fundamentals\/time-reporting-and-payroll\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">submit time sheets or leave reports<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Providing employees with timely information about\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.library.illinois.edu\/bhrsc\/human-resources\/job-performance-fundamentals\/family-and-medical-leave\/\">FMLA<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: resources<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Identifying appropriate <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.library.illinois.edu\/bhrsc\/odt\/\">training and professional development opportunities<\/a><\/span> for unit employees<\/li>\n<li>Providing employees information about library and university policies, including Title IX, Sexual Harassment, and any other Ethics policies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Supervision of employees:\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.library.illinois.edu\/bhrsc\/human-resources\/job-performance-fundamentals\/time-reporting-and-payroll\/\">Approving and tracking leave requests<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Assisting with employee <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.library.illinois.edu\/bhrsc\/human-resources\/job-performance-fundamentals\/remote-hybrid-work-request-process-university-library-guidelines-and-workflows\/\">remote\/hybrid requests<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Completing <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.library.illinois.edu\/bhrsc\/human-resources\/job-performance-fundamentals\/overview-of-the-annual-performance-evaluation-process\/\">performance evaluations<\/a><\/span> and setting new goals<\/li>\n<li>Providing timely and constructive feedback when applicable<\/li>\n<li>Confirming that position descriptions are accurate and up to date yearly<\/li>\n<li>Submitting positions for audit reviews to the Budget Group, if\/when appropriate<\/li>\n<li>Delegating non-supervisor responsibilities in a fair, equitable and unbiased manner<\/li>\n<li>Assuring that university policies are being followed by their employees, including correcting employees if they are not and if necessary, reporting violations.<\/li>\n<li>Assuring that employee and others are abiding by the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.library.illinois.edu\/bhrsc\/human-resources\/job-performance-fundamentals\/union-contracts\/\">union contracts<\/a><\/span> and correcting any issues that may cause union grievances<\/li>\n<li>Reporting Title IX, Sexual Harassment, and any other Ethic violations<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.library.illinois.edu\/bhrsc\/human-resources\/job-performance-fundamentals\/emergency-information-injuries-and-property-damage\/\">Reporting injuries and\/or property damage<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Completing appropriate <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a reports<\/a><\/span> (positive and negative)<\/li>\n<li>Verifying departing employees complete appropriate separation and offboarding steps, including returning keys and equipment &#8211; see <a
