Biographical Note

Williams is a Professor Emeritus in the School of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He served as the Design Architect for the university’s Education Building and designed several buildings across the state. In 1981, he published The Urban Stage: A Reflexion of Architecture and Urban Design.


Arrangement

The Williams Papers have been arranged as a single series, and organized chronologically by architectural project or publication.


Scope and Content of the Materials

Consists of photographs, negatives, transparencies, articles, proposals, periodicals, posters, architectural drawings, and two bound books; these materials provide an overview of Williams’ architectural career during the 1960s and 1970s, and include a range of projects that were completed throughout the state of Illinois as well as several that were proposed but never realized.
