Today is National Library Workers Day, part of National Book Week. It’s a day to recognize the contributions made by library workers and all they do to keep libraries and library programs running. During the last few weeks, the ALA Allied Professional Association<\/a> (ALA-APA) has been promoting National Library Workers Day (NLWD) by providing a space to recognize stellar library workers<\/a>, providing NLWD merchandise<\/a>, giving suggestions for celebrations<\/a>, and going on a social media blitz with photographs from the ALA Archives of library workers.<\/p>\n

Starting on March 17th, the ALA-APA has been posting photographs from the Archives every day to celebrate library workers. These photographs represent a variety of librarians and libraries, depicting action shots of workers at academic, school, public, and special libraries,\u00a0 along with library events.<\/p>\n

The ALA Archives wanted to also share some of our favorite images of library workers.<\/p>\n
