Media Viewing Spaces
Media Viewing in Collaboration Rooms
The Collaboration Rooms on the upper level of the UGL may be used for media viewing. These rooms
can be reserved ahead of time with the
Dibs Room Reservation
- Rooms 1 & 2 each have a table equipped with 6 laptops/tablet-to-VGA connectors so that
students plug in their laptops and share/switch between them on the big screen LCD in the room.
Movies may be played through a laptop onto the TV screen. Students who use Macbooks/iPads can check
at the front desk.
Rooms 3, 4, 7, 8 each have a DVD/VHS combo player
Rooms 5, 6, 9, 10, 11 each have a DVD player
Media Viewing Stations
There are several spaces on both the upper and lower levels that accommodate media viewing. The
viewing booths are accessible on a first-come, first-serve basis. The lower level is a quiet study
area so headphones are required. You can check out headphones at the circulation desk or buy ear
buds for $1 (you may also supply your own).
- Along the north wall of the upper level, just past the new books section, there are three
tables, each equipped with 6 laptops/tablet-to-VGA connectors so that students plug in their
laptops and share/switch between them on the big screen LCD in the room. Movies may be played
through a laptop onto the TV screen. Two of these table also have Mac minis
- Along the north windows on the upper level, there are two viewing stations, each one equipped
with a flat screen TV and a multi-region Blu-ray/multi-region DVD player.
- On the lower level, there are two media viewing stations along the north windows, each equipped
with a flat screen TV and VHS/multi-region DVD combo player

The public PC computers in the library are also equipped for DVD viewing, as are the laptops
available for check-out. Computers in the Technology Services lab (upper level of the UGL) are not
equipped for DVD viewing.
