Media Viewing Spaces
Media Viewing in Collaboration Rooms
The Collaboration Rooms on the upper level of the UGL may be used for media viewing. These rooms
are available on a first-come, first-served basis, but they can be reserved ahead of time
online or by stopping by or calling the
Circulation Desk (217) 333-3477.
- Rooms 1 & 2 each have a table equipped with 6 laptops/tablet-to-VGA connectors so that
students plug in their laptops and share/switch between them on the big screen LCD in the room.
Movies may be played through a laptop onto the TV screen. Students who use Macbooks/iPads can check
adapters at the front desk.
Rooms 3, 4, 7, 8 each have a DVD/VHS combo player
Rooms 5, 6, 9, 10, 11 each have a DVD player
Media Viewing Stations
There are several spaces on both the upper and lower levels that accommodate media viewing. The
viewing booths are accessible on a first-come, first-serve basis. The lower level is a quiet study
area so headphones are required. You can check out headphones at the circulation desk or buy ear
buds for $1 (you may also supply your own).
- Along the north wall of the upper level, just past the new books section, there are three
tables, each equipped with 6 laptops/tablet-to-VGA connectors so that students plug in their
laptops and share/switch between them on the big screen LCD in the room. Movies may be played
through a laptop onto the TV screen. Two of these table also have Mac minis
- Along the north windows on the upper level, there are four viewing stations, each one equipped
with a 32-inch flat screen TV, a Blu-ray play and a DVD/VHS combo player
- On the lower level, there are four media viewing stations just past the UGL Media Collection.
All are equipped with TVs and DVD/VHS combo players. Station #6 also has a Betamax player and
